Choices!

I confess that the flurry of events at this time of the semester borders on too much of a good thing!  With the semester rapidly coming to a close, our various departments and student organizations are all scrambling to get in their events, which provides our community with several fantastic programs to choose from.

Today is a prime example.  There are four great lunch events today:

• AIR FORCE JAG PRESENTATION
Tuesday, November 4, at 12:45 in Classroom B
Come hear about the exciting work of an Air Force JAG from Captain Kathleen M. Potter, Assistant Staff Judge Advocate with the United States Air Force JAG Corps. She will answer all of your questions about the work of a JAG lawyer, life in the Air Force, internship and postgraduate opportunities, and application tips. Be sure to come with your own lunch and your questions! Contact the CDO at cdo@pepperdine.edu should you need additional information.

• SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT LAW SOCIETY
November SELS Meeting: “The Evolution of the Entertainment and Sports World From an Alternative Perspective.” On Tuesday, November 4, from 12:30-1:30pm in Classroom C, SELS will be hosting Joseph Gargano, the founding member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society at Pepperdine. Mr. Gargano, an entertainment lawyer in New York, will be discussing some of the legal and ethical principles and considerations associated with the representation of creative artists, athletes, and performers. For more information, email Sarah Stern (skstern@pepperdine.edu) or Caroline Doernhoefer (cdoernho@pepperdine.edu).

• GLOBAL JUSTICE FALL FILM SERIES
The film this week is called Genocide Again: Darfur. “Never Again,” declared after the Holocaust, has become “over and over again.” Come learn about efforts to understand and address the genocide in Darfur and other genocides around the world. After the film, hear from student Nicole Banister about her work with refugees.
